How to do When V380 IP Camera Can Not Connect to WiFi?

V380 IP Camera WiFi does not work or IP camera is not connected to the router, which is a problem that users often encounter. Why is the IP camera can not connect wifi, why is your IP camera occasionally in offline mode? Here we will guide you on how to fix security camera connection issues.

There are several reasons why V380 security camera can not connect WiFi:

1. You entered the wrong login password.

2. The SSID is different from the SSID of the router.

3. WiFi coverage is too poor - IP cameras are too far away from the router.

4. The wireless IP camera gets the wrong IP address.

5. Your router does not support the WiFi channel of your security camera.

6. The secure IP camera or phone is not connected to the network.

7. The “UID” option on your IP camera has not been enabled.

8. You have turned on the router's firewall and blocked the connection.

Now that you know why a security camera can't connect to wifi, how can I fix it?

Please follow the solution below to check your camera problem.

1. Check if the camera's antenna is fixed.

2. When you select an SSID for your camera, set it to the same SSID as the router you need to connect to. Make sure your SSID number does not contain the letters and numbers required for special characters.

3. The wireless password should be the same as the wireless password of the router you need to install. Make sure the wireless password does not contain the letters and numbers required for special characters.

4. If your router contains 5G and 2.4G signals, turn off the 5G signal or change the other 5G SSID because the camera only supports 2.4G signals.

5. If mac address filter is enabled, please disable it. Please add the camera's wireless mac address to the allowed list.

6. Keep the distance between the camera and router unobstructed no more than 20 meters.

7. The router switches to WPA2 (instead of the default WPA + WPA2)

8. Check if the IP camera has the correct IP address.

In short, first, check if the camera can detect the WIFI signal. If found, you can select the router's SSID in the wireless list and the encryption will automatically fill in the box below. It only needs to enter a wireless password.

Second, if the camera cannot search for the WIFI signal of the router, please manually fill in the SSID, encryption and wireless key for trial.

Finally, if all the wireless settings are ok, the camera still can't connect to WIFI. Please try another encryption, even if there is no encryption test, please try to put the camera near the router. If you still can't connect, please Contact Us.

  3. I can see pictures from my cameras but I can no get watch it live,(I used to be able to do this) it says connection failed but this can't be right as you can still see a picture taken 5minutes ago.
    I'd it because they now want me to subscribe to the cloud?

    4. I had the problem then I found out that I didn't log out properly from one phone. V380 supports only one login and I had to take another phone while going out. When I logged out the first phone then only I could watch live from the other phone.

    1. Hello, I just joined this forum and I agree that there seems to be many issues raised around the same time. I believe my issues were caused by the September 2020 firmware update which wiped out my cameras. I’m not sure if this relates to any of the points raised in the blog but I thought it was worth adding my thoughts.

  8. i can easily connect my phone and the IP cam device. but I always failed to connect the IP cam the my home internet through the V380 App. This is what do, I add device (manuually add), then choose "Waiting for WiFi smartlink configuration", then connect to my home wifi after input of the correct password,.. Percent progess shows... then pop-up "Connection timeout"; it then gives me option for "Recofiguration" or "Next".
    Please help me. This IP cam is useless if I can't connect through it when I'm away from home.

  11. Instalei 3 cameras v380 sem problema. Entrava na internet ou na camera automaticamente. Tive que trocar o roteador e as cameras ficaram offline. Agora eu instalo as 3 cameras mas só uma fica online e mostra o MV+ id e para entrar ou na internet ou na camera tenho que clicar na rede de uma ou outra. Como resolver?

    1. If your using the v380 pro app delete it and reset the camera. Download the v380 app. It should work. For some reason it the "pro" did not support the camera

  18. I just had an issue with v380 pro. It daid that the device is offline. I asked people at home to plug/unplug frol the power terminal to restart the cctv since im in abroad. It restarted and heard the initialization and connection voice BUT still the same issue.

  26. I had to reset my router and reset a bunch of devices. I tried to reset the V380 camera for 30 minutes, about 20 times, to get the WiFi to work. FIXED: I closed the app and opened it again, and it provided a message about connecting. I clicked that, and VIOLA! It worked. So, try closing the app, wait a few seconds, and open it again (assuming you have scanned the device).

    Please try this "Back Door" method to get your V380 camera on your WiFi network.

    1 Plug in camera.
    2 After a minute or two Press "Reset" ....it is labelled on base or rear.
    3 Unplug camera after hearing "Restoring Factory settings".
    4 Start your V380 app and login to your account.
    5 Make sure your camera is not associated with your account. if so delete it by pressing red delete icon and enter your acc. password.
    6 Press + to add a camera.
    7 Plug in your camera.
    8 Continue installation process
    9 Click on "Access Point Established"
    10 Enter your Wifi ID and password and click Continue.
    11 You should hear "Wi-Fi Connecting".
    12 After Wi-Fi fails you should hear "Password Error" etc.
    13 IMPORTANT.....Press "Finish" or "Continue"
    14 Enter "benny1" as your custom camera name and click "Finish".
    15 "benny1" should now show as an account camera in V380 app.
    16 IMPORTANT.. Now click on TABLET SETTINGS (Your device)
    17 In your tablet settings click on "Connections "
    18 Now click on Wlan, WiFi, Internet tab etc.
    19 Is there a WiFI network showing and starting with "MV" ??
    20 If “MV” network showing then click on it and Connect. Go to 26 !!
    21 If no "MV" network showing then click on your own network ID.
    22 Does "MV" network suddenly appear / show now ? If so go to 20.
    23 If "MV" not showing then test has FAILED and will not work.
    24 If you want to try the test on another device then GO BACK to 1.
    25 Go to 42 !!

    26 Now you are connected to "MV" network. Stay connected.
    27 Ignore "No Internet" warnings ! Stay connected to ""MV"
    28 Now go back to your V380 app.
    29 Now click on green “Settings” icon.
    30 Now click on "Network" Tab.
    31 Now click on "Change to Wi-Fi station mode"
    32 Select your regular Wi-Fi and enter the password. Click Save.
    33 Now you should hear "Wi-Fi Connecting " etc
    34 "Wi-Fi Connected" should be announced.
    35 Now return to your app. camera view and click on it.
    36 You should be asked to create a camera security password.
    37 Enter "benny1" as your camera password and confirm etc.
    38 The camera “benny1” should now be on YOUR Wi-Fi network ????
    39 If so then the “Backdoor Method” was successful ! Now go to 41.
    40. “Backdoor Method” has failed !!. Go to 24 !! .

    41 When you unplug your camera and then plug it in again it should join your WiFi network automatically and without intervention.

    42 END !!

  34. Good afternoon. Not sure if Windows 10 is not compatible with V380 Pro anymore (after the last update), but for about 2 weeks now, I can manage to log into my account and everything. The issue is the live stream. It just gives me blank screens, and no live stream video footage anymore. I have even changed my password, and also uninstalled the V380 app on my laptop, and re-installed this about 5 times now, and nothing changed. the issue is also not the internet connection, I checked with my ISP. The funny thing is, on my Android Phone i have no issues. Please, I need your help. Wessel

    1. Hi I'm having the same issue. I'm connected via ethernet and when I'm out I can't view my camera just says offline. When I'm home if I connect to my wifi it connects fine. Have you resolved your issues?
